Sodi’s Gems Pin Wallet & Pin Cushion Review

Sodi’s Gems is a brand is a small business run by the very sweet Sodi who makes handmade solutions for Hijabis as well as wall hangings.

Uzma Chaudhri, the lady whose Hijab Styling Masterclass I attended in 2017 very kindly gifted us some wrist pin cushions along with loads of other goodies to help us on our Hijab Styling journey.

For me, the course was a chance to help me get back on my feet after my Stroke and add another skill to my side job as a Makeup Artist but what I didn’t anticipate was the fatigue resulting from my Stroke being harder to handle.

However, I continued following Sodi on Instagram and keeping in touch with her since then and Mashallah she remains the same bumble, kind and generous soul she is now.

PIN WALLET

When I went away on holiday to Rome in April, I stashed my pins in my jewellery box whilst travelling. It was only after I came back I found out about the Sodi’s Gems Pin Wallet and was writing about Eid Gifts from a small business that I found out about them.

She very kindly sent me a Pin Wallet to feature in the post and I was able to share this gem in my Hijab Hand Luggage packing tips post as well.

The pin wallet comes with some pins already inserted, and a beautiful ribbon clasp to tie your pin wallet in place.

I LOVE this scissor design but there are quite a few others on Sodi’s website.

It’s incredibly light and compact and would hold pins of all shapes and sizes but I wouldn’t overstuff it especially when travelling.

It’s great to slip in your handbag as well as your hand luggage.

HOW MUCH IS IT?

The Pin Wallets retail for £10 and does not include postage and packing.

All dimensions for the pin wallet are shown on the website.

WRIST PIN CUSHION

Sodi’s Gems Wrist Pin Cushion comes in a variety of colours, Uzma very kindly gifted me the plum Banarsi fabric.

Sodi also does a Magnetic wrist cushion perfect for Hijab Stylists too and normal pin cushions which can come in the round design or square.

This wrist pincushion is a great tool when you’re in a hurry and need to get your Hijab on quickly and if you’re like me and have a variety of pins already on your pin cushion, it makes styling a breeze!

WOULD I RECOMMEND?

There’s a few gifts I recieved as a newly wed that I still use to this day that I got from my friends, and I think Sodi’s Writs cushions and pin wallets would make excellent gifts for yourself and friends and family.

For a Hijabi bride, a beautiful scarf and the pin wallet would make a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

For a budding Hijab Stylist, the wrist cushion with a few pinwheels would be an excellent addition to their kit.

And for a new HIjabi, a Pin Cushion with a beautiful scarf and a sweet note would be an amazing introduction to life as a Hijabi and a memorable and cherished gift.

Of course, I would recommend this product!

Have you ever tried a Pin Wallet or Wrist Cushion or would you?

I really need to get myself a pin wallet. My pins are generally all over the place and when we went on holiday I just shoved some into the back pocket of my purse! Would be ideal for when we go on our trips

It is a lifesaver on holiday to keep things together! And yes, I used to just shove the pins wherever I could and end up losing half of them!
