One year ago I launched Simply Humaira after trying and failing to run 3 failed blogs in 5 years, here’s what’s happened in a year.
What’s my Niche?
I still have no idea of what my “niche” is according to traditional Blogging wisdom, but it took a long time to realise I don’t need one.
I have a fantastic array of strong, amazing and inspiring women who’ve kept me going through the good times and the bad during the last year.
This space is a place for me to share topics and products I’m passionate about and have them all in one place.
I’m a writer at heart and always work through whatever is going on in my head by writing about it.
I’ve somewhat moved on from just being a Beauty Blogger even though I do share a lot of beauty posts to being more mindful of what I buy and subsequently what I share on this space.
I’m a lot more minimal in my beauty spending habits now choosing to focus on quality and not quantity.
I know what works for me in terms of skincare and I’ve shared my favourites on the blog previously.
So what will I share?
Anything that makes me smile, laugh, cry, move me or make me angry.
Basically anything and everything.
The problem with being a NICHE Blogger is it’s not reflective of reality.
Yes, people may only want to follow you for one thing but I truly believe they stay for the stories we tell.
My Favourite Posts from 1 year of Simply Humaira
What I’ve learned from Simply Humaira after 1 year
My mantra last year, unintentionally, was Heal and Grow as I was healing myself mind, body and soul after 3 blogs that didn’t work and doing a lot of inner work as well.
I’ve been honing my craft, trying to write more and really going in-depth into topics and I feel like I want to continue that into this year.
Rediscovering my love of reading and listening to audiobooks has been a revelation, especially as my local library allows you to borrow Audiobooks which along with my Audible books has been a great way to get through a lot of books to share in my Book Reviews section.
Simply Humaira 2019/20
My mantra this year for Simply Humaira is Courage and Confidence.
I aim to go into all opportunities with courage and confidence In Shaa Allah.
Only time will tell if this comes into fruition.
If you have any suggestions for posts you want to see on Simply Humaira or topics you want me to discuss then feel free to email me at hello [at] simplyhumaira.com
Thank you so much for being on this journey with me and I’m looking forward to seeing what we achieve together In Shaa Allah (God Willing).
