Make Money by taking pictures of your receipt with Shoppix
I admit it, I’m a hoarder.
It runs in the family, to be honest.
My dad used to keep all the receipts throughout the month.
He would then check the purchases on his credit card statement.
Who ended up compiling them for him?
Yup, free labour amongst me and my siblings.
Our job was to highlight the dates of the receipts and then put them in a neat pile by month.
So, when I heard about the Shoppix app, my hoarding tendencies finally came in handy!
WHAT IS SHOPPIX?
It allows you to snap a picture of your receipts and earn points, which eventually turns into cash.
The more points you get per receipt, the more you move up the shelves and can eventually cash out £5, £10 or £20 over PayPal or exchange for vouchers.
It does take a while to do it, so it’s not a quick way to make money, but at least it puts your receipts to use!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Take a clear picture of your receipt (it cannot be handwritten or from an online e-mail) and upload it to the Shoppix app.
Make sure to upload both sides as sometimes text is printed on both sides of the receipt, but you can add more pictures if it is a long receipt as well.
Occasionally Shoppix will ask you to answer surveys when you access the app, these are usually about your shopping habits, household and opinions on certain products or behaviours.
They’re pretty short and will help you earn points to move up the shelves.
You can also earn more points through scratchcards, but not every scratchcard has points available, so it’s kind of hit and miss.
All winning and losing cards gain an entry to the prize draw which happens every week on Sunday at 3 pm.
It’s a simple way to make money slowly by utilising something you would throw away i.e. your receipts
You can earn more points by answering surveys and with the scratch cards.
It’s very slow.
You can only upload 30 receipts a week maximum.
They can reject your receipt if it doesn’t meet the guidelines which are on their website.
IS IT WORTH IT?
I think it is worth it! It’s very slow, but it is a small way to earn money for free.
