Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme | Review
I had high hopes for the Jouer Long Wear Lip Cremes, but despite researching them for weeks, I ended up giving them away to my sister after a few wears.
What went wrong?
What is a Lip Creme?
A lip creme is something that’s not quite a liquid lipstick but not a gloss.
It’s supposed to be more hydrating than normal liquid lipsticks as they don’t dry matte and dry out the lips.
Why Lip Cremes Don’t Work for Me
I’ve previously tried out the NYX Matte Lip Creme’s and didn’t like those, but for some reason, I thought I might like these at double the price.
As Julia Roberts famously said in Pretty Woman, BIG MISTAKE! HUGE!
I didn’t enjoy using the Jouer Long Wear Lip Cremes at all, they started flaking off after application and as a result, ended up making my lips so much drier.
The only saving grace was the beautiful colours which enticed me.
The colours on offer from Jouer Cosmetics are stunning.
With the NYX Lip Cremes, the colours are more bright or deep, they don’t tend to venture into the nude category, but the Jouer Long Wear Lip Cremes do come in nude colours which are so beautiful.
I chose the colours Terra and Noisette.
They were so stunning, I really tried to like them and wear them.
Terra was the better nude colour for my lips, a really beautiful nude shade.
Noisette was slightly lighter but worked as a light nude shade, but was a bit too light for my lips and so looked unnatural.
How Much Are They?
Each Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme is £15.00.
Would I recommend the Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme?
I’d personally not buy them again simply because they’re quite flaky, don’t dry down matte and would come off anytime you ate or drank something.
If you want to flirt with Lip Cremes, try out NYX or cheaper brands and see if they work for you.
