In my last post, I talked about the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick.
And in this post, I’ll be talking about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Dim Light.
Most people invest in one of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Edit palettes where you get 3 products including a blusher, bronzer and highlighter in one palette.
When I tried it out at the SpaceNK in Covent Garden, it became quickly apparent the shades would be too light to be of much use to me.
So, I ended up buying the Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light separately.
Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
My honest thoughts on this are that it’s lovely, but it’s JUST a powder.
Personally, I don’t think it’s as earth-shattering as it’s been made to seem, but it really does bring your makeup together.
What it doesn’t do is stop me being shiny, so I still have to use a mattifying powder on my oily T-Zone due to being combination skin.
Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light Swatch
You can barely see it in the swatch but you can definitely see the subtle sheen in the product which makes it perfect for all skin tones.
Pros and Cons
- It’s a beautiful product and really gives you a subtle glow to finish off your makeup
- Easy to blend and set.
- Photographs beautifully.
- It’s £42 so an expensive purchase to get wrong.
I really love this product but I do think it’s overpriced for what it is.
I’d recommend the Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light but only if you don’t like or would not suit the other colours in one of the Ambient Lighting Palette edits.
